Anne Keenan Higgins
Rubber Stamping & Card Making
 
Born and raised in Michigan, Anne Keenan Higgins
comes from a wildly creative clan. Her parents met at art
school and passed along their talents to their 10 children,
who went on to become interior designers, film producers,
painters, and advertising execs. Anne studied art and design
at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and began her career
as an art director in advertising agencies in and around Detroit.
Tired of the cold winters of Michigan, Anne and her sister,
Emily, decided to move out to  California.
After working at a few designs studios in San Francisco and
Los Angeles, Anne decided to concentrate on developing her
illustration style and fulfill her life's dream to go out
on her own as an artist. She started playing around with pen
and ink and gouache. Once Anne established her whimsical style,
she decided to test the waters with a line of handmade note
cards at a small shop in Northern California. When her designs
became a success, it gave her the courage to make the leap
from the corporate world of the land of freelance illustrators.
Anne currently works with a variety of greeting card companies,
book publishers, magazines, apparel and other various giftware
companies. When she's not painting in her studio, Anne is
biking, shopping for the perfect shoe, or traveling with her
husband, Dave, also an artist, looking for inspiration for
their artwork.
